Rogers finally came by to give me Internet access today. The cable guy told me to go to a Rogers Plus to exchange the modem for a wireless one, except the store is OUT of wireless modems, so I won't be able to get the Mac online until they receive a shipment. Fucking company. They're ALREADY screwing me.

Okay. Breathe. A lot has transpired over the last few days. Connolley's wedding was certainly a wedding. I got a kick out of the minister, who was really jovial about the whole thing, constantly cracking jokes. I kind of respected the fact that he didn't bring God into the ceremony as much as a lot of ministers do. I'm looking forward to not having a wedding to look forward to, all things being equal.

I've been living in this apartment now for three weeks and it feels like three months. Things can't happen fast enough for me to get everything in place. I still need my couch. I'll feel a lot better about the place once it's here. I never thought I'd be so picky once I started living on my own.

A group of us had dinner at Tucker's in the Market last night and ended up at Mod Club. I stayed until close for the first time in forever. It was fun. I'm tired today. I think I might just watch movies and chill, get away form the world for awhile.

Andrea and I are heading to Kingston for Connolley's wedding tomorrow. I've been looking forward to this wedding as the last real "event" of the summer, and although I'm definitely happy for Greg and Kelly I'm looking forward to having it behind me. I'm kind of wedding-ed out at this point. In any event, I'm going to try to hit Kingston on the first shot in the rental car and not end up in Arnprior this time.

A bunch of us went to The Lookout last night, a gay club in town. It was the first time I'd ever been to one. It's pretty much the same as any other club, with more men wearing tighter t-shirts.

I think I need to start getting out more.

This marks the 100th post on 2AM Traffic. Milestones!

I went to Sofa World and the salesman Mike sold me a couch for $452 after delivery, about exactly what I wanted to spend. It's green and should snuggle nicely into the space that remains in my living room. Should be here in under two weeks. I bought a drill, put up the blinds in my bedroom and put my kitchen table together. With a tablecloth on it, it should serve as a half decent spot to write. And eat occasionally, maybe. Everything's coming together. The bigger stuff is pretty much all taken care of.

Yesterday the high school mates and I got together to take Connolley out for the day before he gets married in a couple of weeks. We went mini golfing, had lunch at Gracie O'Malley's, went to Rideau Carleton Raceway to gamble, and then back to Connolley's for barbecue and Wii. It was a pretty fun time. I won a little over 60 bucks at slots and blackjack. Being the old men that we are, everyone was kind of tired around 1 AM when I left. But that's what 13 hours of partying will do.

I still like spending time with the lads, but we all seem to be settling into the types of people we'll be for the rest of our lives. Good news in some cases, not so great in others. I don't really even know if I can say that I'll stay the same person for the rest of my life. Obviously I'll change a lot. Experience will do that to you, and I've got a pretty open mind. But there are certain folks that anyone knows that will always be the way they are. I know some people who are like that, for better or worse, and it becomes more and more apparent the longer I know them.

Andrea and I went to the Pride parade this afternoon, which ran along Wellington and down Elgin for a bit to City Hall. I'd never been before. It was fun, of course. Lots of happy faces, people reveling in the freedom to be themselves. It must be a great feeling to be able to celebrate something that a lot of people try to make you ashamed of on a daily basis.

Last night I had a very vivid dream that Canada was bombed. Ottawa was laid to waste and I walked outside through the wreckage in a post-apocalyptic daze.

I got together with Jim, Adam, Connelley and Martin yesterday at the Royal Oak for a pint before heading out to the west end to play some Wii. Kathryn, Adam's wife, is extremely pregnant. Dorothy is still alive and kicking and bitchy. Martin and I grabbed the last 95 running, and when we got on the driver said they were sending a new bus from Lincoln Fields because someone had thrown up on the bus we were on. Lo and behold, the second bus never came, so Martin and I cabbed it from Carling and Woodroffe.

I messed around with Reason yesterday, using the drum loop unit and a couple of synthesizers. So far so good.
